Description
Yoga and Neurodiversity – An Introduction.Â
All welcome. (This is organised as a BWY Members’ Session, but it is open to all.)
We often hear about neurodiversity these days, but it remains a new area for many. While about 1 in 7 adults is neurodiverse or neurodivergent, many remain undiagnosed, particularly women. Yoga can be an ideal practice for this population, for the heart, body and mind. Guided by lived experience and yogic wisdom, this interactive session offers a chance to begin to explore how these unique needs, gifts and challenges can be a comfortable part of general classes, and for the profound benefit of all, including teachers. There will be a balance of Q&A, theory and practice.
This session will be approximately 50% lecture and discussion and 50% practice but the precise composition will depend on the dynamic of the group and how questions lead us.
This would make a perfect introduction for anyone interested in attending BWY Yorkshire’s online event with Carol later in the month.
Please follow this link for details and to book online via the BWY (British Wheel of Yoga). Please email events@bwy.org.uk to book a place if you are not a BWY member and would like to join us.
